Grantmaking Pause
As mentioned in our announcement of EA Funds’ merger with CEA, Effective Ventures and the Centre for Effective Altruism will be instituting a two-month pause on processing new EA Funds grant recommendations from 1 June - 31 July for operational reasons related to the spinout process.
If your request is time-sensitive, please indicate your ideal decision date and explain the reason in your application.
Grant requests submitted to EA Funds after 9 May will not be processed until at least 1 August. We likely won’t evaluate all applications by 1 June, but we will prioritize time-sensitive and promising applications and aim to complete evaluations for those before the pause.
While we may not be able to make final decisions on all applications by 1 June, in many cases, we will likely be able to indicate the likelihood that an application will be recommended for funding—however, all recommendations remain contingent on passing due diligence. For grants recommended by 1 June, grantees must complete due diligence by 10 June in order for payments to be issued before grant processing resumes on 1 August. You can review the due diligence document checklist here and prepare the required materials in advance to help speed up the process.
